Hi i'm new here and have been reading all your posts which have really helped me to sort out my new corsa. Its 1999 and 1.6 Sport. Done 35K Miles. I was just wondering if it was worth putting a K and N air induction kit on? Or would it be better to apply an aftermarket panel filter?
Current modifications are:
Alpine 305X Head-Unit
Alpine BT-400 Bluetooth Unit
Alpine 17" Front Door Speakers
Vibe VP2 600W Amp
Audiobharn 600W Subwoofer
OZ Superturismo GT Black 15"
Soon:
Brembo red brake upgrade.
Cheers!

Any reason why? Which will give more performance gains?

Induction kit will see bigger gains but only if it is enclosed and has a cold air feed. I was lucky to get one for a tenner second hand but most of the time there like 60/70 quid which is a lot of money. If you just get a k&n 57i then you will just sucjk up all the hot air and rubbish from your engine which will actually make u loose power. The best bet would be to drop a standard k&n (or greencotton) panel filter into your airbox then derestrict it (remove the little pipes that reduce the airflow). That will give u nearly the same gains as a induction kit but for less than half the money

personally iwent for the k and n induction kit ive got the 57i on my corsa sport (yes with cold air feed and heat shield) the noise the engine produces is awsome and persomance is increased (but then i have a cat back exaust aswell
