thought it was time to start a project thread on what ive been doing to my car

few months ago was told by my dad that i could have the engine out of our vectra, so i jumped at the chance

this is the car the engine will be dropped in
Image

i had the vectra engine out in a few days and in the shed to be painted up as it was filthy, also painted the rocker cover and cambelt cover
Image
Image

once it was in the shed the old gearbox was taken off and sold on to fund the new one, and everything was stripped off the engine so i could clean it and paint it
Image
there is loads more pics of progress so far but need to find them, will upload them when i do

comments welcome

yh its just normal high temp paint, its the stuff you would use on you brakes, ive used it on my 1.4 engine and has never been a problem, ya just gotta put it on really thick  and only cost me £3.99

ive had a look around and ive found the other pics of the progress ive made

we went down to chelmsford last weekend and got a f16cr gearbox, 90mm springs & uprated dampers & part of the conversion mount i needed, got them all off a mate on MigWeb
Image

trail fitted the gearbox and all was ok
Image

also fitted the 90mm springs with the new dampers
Image
Image

and got bored so painted the cover which goes on the bottom on the gearbox the same colour as the engine
Image

and heres a few more pics of the engine :D

thats about it for now i think, but will update when there is more :D

looking good...but you REALLY need to get the lexus lights off it. Put some standards back on and it'll look tidy! :)
