yup this is an unavoidable problem with corsas im afraid. The only way to fix it is take one of the pins out of the back or the stereo or cut the wire (i think its pin 8 but dont quote me on that 1). This will make ur date stay on when the stereo is on but can often mess up the radio reception so if u like to listen to the radio then its not worth doing lol

you need to take ur stereo out and swap around the red and yellow wires, so plug the yellow to red and red to yello
thats why its not saving your settings.
read the faq regarding the date disapearing its pin 8 on the mfd not on the stereo!!

To make the date stay on the display you need to kill/destroy pin.8 on back of the display. Cutting the wire at the back of the display will work but it's easier to replace the display when repair the wiring loom if you ever want to revert.
Cutting the wire at the back of the headunit will kill your radio amplifier reception as it splits of to both places (1 been the amplifier, other been the headunit). So don't cut there!
Hope this helps.

do it at the back of the display, not the hed unit and u shouldnt have any problems
best way would be to cut the wire, leave enought ether side so you can resolder if you ever wanted to
