just bought a 1998 corsa 1.0 with a shagged startermotor but got under it today and can only get a the bottom bolt so it looks like i have to now take the alternator off. so i looked on google and found a thread saying its a piece of piss and all you need is an extention to undo the top bolt but theirs no chance??? anyone else had this problem and knows the easyest way to do it cheers

where are you from as i have a starter on my 1.0l scrappie

i managed to get to mine on my 1.2. i removed the air filter housing and pipe and got an extension and wobbly head and managed to get it off bit tricky though, much easier if you could get underneath properly to do it.
