No idea mate, but the strut will be under compression so I don't really think the material makes a big difference.

they all do the same thing, its just the branding your paying the extra for, personally i would pay a bit more and get an adjustable version, then you can change the stiffness of it and fine tune it

Personally i'd get the cheapest. OMP tend to do good value powdercoated steel ones, don't bother with 'modification' websites/shops, have a look for rally parts places.

http://www.rallydesign.co.uk are fairly decent.

btw, Length adjustment doesn't change the stiffness of the strut brace. All you're adjusting is length for ease of fitment.

Ok fair point, I hadn't considered that the distance could be adjusted.

i suspect it's hardly an issue unless tracking it though etc.

I don't think the tracking would be affected to be honest, the strut is just to stiffen. If there is any widening of the track, both sides "should" move by the same amount.

I think the brace is a good idea for older cars as the suspension gets worn out, the mounting points become weaker with rust and stress, the bushes are worn etc. I've just put a lower strut on mine but haven't had time to test it yet as my car needs some welding done. :(

Yeah to be fair I have 'heard' that the lowers have more impact.

iv got that exact strut brace and BELIEVE ME, IT DOES NOTHING!!! well it would do something but their is one modification that you need to do, you know the one C cup that goes around the top of the suspension strut yea well the suspension bolts go on the outside of the C section, i havnt got around to doing it yet but i will do at sometime but put your C cup things on the suspension tops first then press the centre of the C down to the car body and put a tack of weld to stop it from flexing, then you can mount your strut brace,

other than that after a few months of driving i could see that the stut bace mounts had rose from the suspension tops so obv the flex had been put through the weak mounts instead of passing through the brace itself. and that would be the quickest and easiest way of solving the sh1t flexing problem.

strut braces only stiffen up the cars chasis to reduce movement/body roll they do not stiffen up suspension or ewt like that. but your best getting good make ones. you can get a full kit: front upper & lower and rear.
