Weird Noise - PLEASE READ

Post by SammyH »

Hi guys,
I previously posted a topic about an engine rattle.
The engine is still rattling but is inconsistant, sometimes it is at high revs but often at low revs in a high gear.
It has recently started to rattle whilst in neutral and has developed a squeeling noise as well.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing these problems?

its hard to say what is without actually having a look but i suggest you get a proffesional to take a quick look just to ease your mind, otherwise could turn out expensive

poss hydrolic lifters, not to sure on the corsa engine yet as, yet to take 1 apart but most cars r like this now.
Is the noise from the top of the engine or seem further down like bottom end.
As mentioned u need to take it some1, on here its a guessin game to 'a noise'

Took it to a garage today and found the cause - It turns out to be the crankshaft pulley.
They asked me if i had an accident because it was bent so obviously the previous owner has had a collision and not repaired the damage properly.
At least i know the cause now though, thought i'd let you know :D
