Post by Octane2097 »

since i only live a few mins from work, my car never really gets a work out.
so today with the weater being sunny went for a bit of a drive in to the peak district.
lots of awsome roads but found a nice little route to share:

anyone have any thoughts? or any other great driving roads?
preferably not motorway or dual carrage way.

I live in northfield birmingham, there is a couple of short little blasts down off egghill by frankley, and it you go up egghill lane, turn left at the top and carry on through old frankley, its a narrow 3 mile blast.

If i want to go for a longer drive, i normally hit the M5, get off at junction 6 for worcester, and do the A44 and A442 through to Arrow. THAT is a fecking great road.

Also, went camping recently in the cotswalds (first long journey in the new motor 8) ) A40 is a great road in parts, some sweeping corners, but would be better on a bike in my opinion.

And thats my input :)

Peak district is pretty awesome - some amazing roads and views up near buxton and bakewell - just try and time it right in the time of day and the time of year or u'll be stuck in jams - like dont go on a bank holiday weekend at 1 in the afternoon lol
