ryt lads bought an old corsa B 1st car started doing it up but when i floor the accelerator the revs bearly move. I have to ease of be4 i get any revs. another problem is when im in gear sumtime theres a lose of power and my engnie managment light comes on and wnt go off again till i ease of the power. Any suggestions plz.

Ryt mate first the slow acceleration are you flooring the pedal from stand still I.e pulling off?? If you ideling the flooring it you could be flooding the engine which will slow down the acceleration cause engine needs to burn that extra fuel, I don't know what the part could having a blonde moment but basically where ya accelerator cable is in the engine bay tere is a valve that moves as you press the pedal of that is poo up it could also slow the acceleration down... Someone else myt be able to help more....

think u mean the idle control valve but im not sure if that would help ur problem

Errrm yea that's the thing I think lol... As for losing power when engine management lyt comes on... How long does the light stay on for roughly and wen it comes in do your revs drop to about 3000?? If so this is ya going into ""safe mode"" if it does this it then you have a problem...

it will be your mass air flow sensor. myne does the same at the moment get them off ebay for like £30.

it only stays on for about 5 seconds untill the revs drop

in neutral m8 if i floor the accelerater i have jst about no revs

Ok mate well if I was you I would do ya MAF sensor like matty_09 said.. It's a piss easy job take 10 mins if that... Give all ya plugs at check and quick spray with wd40 or summat helps keeps the water out and make good connection... Then do ya idle control valve again just need wd and old tooth brush or summat for a quick spray and light run over removed all the crap from the moving parts and allows it to move freely... See if any of that helps any of ya problems and let us no mate

I had the same problem with mine

Always take it to a vauxhall garage because no others have a clue.

It cost £100 they replaced a part and it was something to do with the air flow.

that all depends on your local garage, I always use my local and they are spot on, all depends where ya live though I guess I personaly have never taken my car to vauxhall and don't think I ever will either, They charge supid money for everything and you can get oem parts a lot cheaper and most of the tym they are just as good as vaux genuine parts... 100 quid for a maf from vaux or 30 quid of eBay... I no which I wud have

i would start by checking the sensors connections and by cleaning the sensors, also take a wire brush to the spark plugs or replace them if needed, also check the HT leads, do you have a coil pack or distributor? what litre is your car?
