In fuel injected engines, the throttle body is the part of the air intake, it controls the amount of air flowing into the engine
The throttle body is usually located between the air filter box and the intake manifold

have a look at this labled engine bay shows you where it is

Thanks :)
But when people say like my car is throttle bodied and stuff what does it mean and what does it do?
I was watching a vid on youtube and a guy had his corsa sport throttle bodied and I didn't understand what he meant.
Cheers

it could of had 4 individual throttle bodies on it instead of just the one like on a standard corsa, a lot of people do it on redtop corsa's :)

usualy if its has 4 throttle bodys, its running on carbs instead
common mod especialy for 2liter engines.

wtf?? if you run carbs you dont need injectors also you need to run a distributor as apposed to throttle bodies which are only metering the amount of air fed to the engine dont do anything else. if you was putting bodies on lets say a 1.4 corsa with single point injection you would then need throttle bodies with injectors fitted to each cylinder and a stand alone management system to run it.where as carbs you would just isolate the fuel supply to injector and route to carbs instead 2 completely differant systems

its not a carb. a throttle bodys a throtle body. a carb mixes the fuel and air in the one unit. a throttle body inhales the air mixing no fuel
