Hi.
I want to make my car sound more sporty, ive got a standard backbox on that came with the car, just a stainless tip welded on.
Ive been told becuase ive just got the standard backbox on this if i remove my centre box and put a pipe in its place this will make it sound louder, but no too louder, becuase the back box still has baffels in. is this true?
I just dont want it to sound loud as fooook, and draw attention to myself.

I was wondering if anyone has done this and can explain how loud it will be and is it worth it done professionaly for 30 pound?

its a waste of time mate. either go the induction way. get the filter or just drill the standar box. or drill a few holes in the back box

that will be an MOT fail, as would suck in air could cause low readings

but if you remove the middle box it should make it louder yes,
best idea would be to get a section of exhuast from another corsa and just weld or clamp it in place.

for a job like that would be around £80 for it done professonaly, thats what i payed for my ibiza doing
cheaper to do it yourself

Well I got told by a specialist exhaust company they will do it me for 30 pound :)
Take it out and weld a pipe into its place.
Just don't want it stupidly loud like a chav.
Do you think it will be stupidly loud, think it will be?

When my exhaust decided to give way on a trip home from the town 1 day, I sent my car in for a full stainless. I had a backbox so to get the rest of the exhaust done and new hangers on the backbox it cost me 100 quid. Its really really loud though! But it would probably be alot quieter with baffles in the backbox lol.

just get a aftermarket backbox..if u get one with like a 3in exit it wont be too loud.

well i had a 4 inch backbox on mine which was quite loud but then i decided to take the middle box out and it made a huge difference - u cud hear me coming a mile off lol. it wont make much difference to a standard box but if u have a backbox of anything over 2 inches u will defo notice it.

oh and 30 quid is what i paid for mine to be done as well so thats the going rate im guessing

hi your best bet is to buy an ashley 3" backbox, that what i have on mine, sounds really nice and not too loud. also get an inductin kit off ebay... just pick up a cheap one its pointless paying loads for a official K&N becuase some of the cheaper ones often give a better sound... obv if you're looking for performance then get a k&N but yeah, my advice to you is go on ebay get an inductin kit and a 3" ashely backbox... will sound mint.

3'' backbox and upgraded filter panel ( greencotton or pipercross ) and de-restrict the box . perfect for giving car that sportier sound . then if you wanted louder after that get a straight through centre pipe.

however if you get a induction kit make sure you make a good airflow ( extra pipe ) otherwise you will risk fekking up the air flow meter.
