I need help understanding car speakers. I own a corsa b and have currently only got the original factory fitted door speakers :(

What i need to know is how to change the door speakers, i heard that adapters or summin will be required. Also what makes a good door speaker im willing to spend around £70 on them but if i must go higher then i can easily get the money together. Will i need to change the wires? Do i need to cut the door panel? i literally have no knowlege what so ever and anything will help please. I will also want some parcel shelf speakers in the near future too, but i would like to get the door ones out of the way. Since my window fell out and will need to take the door apart to fix so i thought why not kill two birds with one stone

right, i think wot ur mate means is u can amp your speakers, but tbh there really is no need.

as for the windows hitting the magnets thats a simple one. pop down to halfords and buy sum corsa b speaker adapters . they screw straight on and then u screw ur speakers to them. and problem sorted!

it would probably make sense to state my cd player is a JVC KD-R601 and the manual states that it is reccomended to connect speakers with a maximum power of more than 50W (both rear and front, with an impedance of 4-8ohms). then it states if the maximum power is less than 50 W change 'AMP GAIN' setting to prevent the speakers from getting dammaged (the manual tells me how to do this if needed).

Are you after powerfull speakers for the best sound cause I just thinking they are 280w max... I got fli 6" speakers with 231w max and only cost 28 quid giving more to spend or rear 6x9s and sub.. I faded sound more throu my rears so
fronts don't really need to be hugly powerfull... Depends what ya going for are you hoping to show car or just summat to listen to ya tunes throu

Right hopefully someone will correct me if I am wrong but the higher the RMS and The sensitivity the better the speakers are.. But if your car stereo only kicks out 50w then if your not amping your speakers there shudnt be a lot of differnce between 280w speakers or 200w speakers... I might be wrong so plz don't take my word for it.. All I saying is I use my speakers for just basic tunes I got fli a throu the car front 6" 230w and rear 6x9 280w ( I think) the whole setup cost
me just over 65 quid so cheaper than your front speakers an fli is a decent make is fli is made
by vibe who are leaders in speakers manufacturing..

yea i wasn't going to amp them im reallly only after front ones now and back ones in two weeks so anything around 200w would be ok because the head unit is only sending out 50W is that what you are trying to say?

The higher the rms the better the speakers.. But again if it just for tunes ( I chose to save some cash and still have a better than standard system).. It's all about preference mate.. I can only tell ya what I know, I got some of the things about wrong my front speakers only 210w and rears 375w, I have my bass turned up and I can turn the stereo fully up and the only distortion I get it where the speakers are vibrating the door skin and the parcel shelf... If you unsure go to your local car audio dealers and talk to them... They can show you lots of diff equipment and suggest whY the best for you car and your sound type... Out of interest were ya from
