You should Amp them really, cos your head unit wont be able to make them sounds as good as they should ;)

I used the wires going to my rear speakers and just connected that to my 6x9s... As for amping them you havnt go to do that at all.. Myn work of the headunit and they are brill.. You only really need to amp them if your using your car as a show / comp car..

LOL you obv dont know how they work then matee....

If the Speakers are edsigned for running at 150W RMS and your headunits running at say 30W RMS, then you they are going to be working at 30W RMS, when they are supposed to be running at 150! which means the speakers and your head unit have to work harder.. and they dont sound as good as they should :D

I don't know everything no but who does.. your telling him thou he has to amp them which isn't true he doesnt have to amp them at all.. My headunit puts out 50w rms, my speakers are 50w, 230w peak... So yea the speaker arn't running at there full potiential but they sound 100% betta than standards without amping... Yea if you have the money amp them but if you have the money you also want a sub so you gonna need amp anyway... Supposed it all down to personal preference
and budget.. But I suggest trying the speakers first just off the headunit, if you then still want more think about buying
amp ( again only my opion but if ya gonna buy a amp and connec it to ya speakers ya may aswell go all the way and get a sub)

 most people i hav spoken to or hav seen it done tend to just use the existing speaker wires or run there own from the head unit :)

Just to let you know tho.. if the speakers are a high RMS then you'll be damaging them more.... You should have twice the input RMS than the speaker requires really.... so a 50W RMS speaker would be working at its best when its receiving 100W RMS ;)

Just to let you know :D

I just cut the wires connecting my stock rear speakers and put my 6x9 in, they cost me £20 reduced from £80 down at halfords, and with no amp they shake every part of the car on full volume and it sounds amazing, just need to buy a 1000w amp and get a sub in the boot ;)
