Hi,
I have a corsa b merit 1.2L 8 valve. Recently I have fitted a cone filter and I have noticed an increase in performance. ( This performance was only coming from the auto choke all the time on). The spark plugs were black as well. After a set of new spark plugs all remained the same as car was intermittently not taking gas. Therefore I have decided to put the original airbox back in place. Opened the tank, cleaned the filter of the tank (this was in perfect condition), in the tank there is no debris or dirt. replaced the big fuel filter from underneath the car, near the tank and cleaned the carb with carb cleaner spray. Replaced spark plugs.
the problem now is that on the morning or when the car is cold it wont start by the first time. Sounds like it is turning but no fuel is entering the engine. I can still hear the relay of the pump and pump working. then starts fine on the second try. It won't affect me while driving like before, no humps and the gas is taken accordingly.
the other problem is that when it is cold and I press the pedal to the floor and loose it the engine will sort of turns off. Like there is no auto choke..(like the old cars).
Sorry for taking to long but this took me 2 months to determine that the main problem was coming from the cone filter. But still having the previous faults.
Do you have any idea what might be? I was after 2 main issues. ( either the auto choke needs resetting or the non return valve in the pump is going crazy)..
Thanks

sounds to me like its the idel controls valve
OFFICAL DVLA DATA:
1414 - corsa gsi's on the road in 2008.
735 - corsa gsi's currently on the road and 436 SORN
Basicly you would have to be a right tw*t to break one for parts
Thanks to everyone for an awsome weekend at pvs!
