Hi guys
My nan has just given my younger bro her 1.2 CDX Auto Corsa. But its suffering from a few probs:
The engine management light comes on regarding the CAT, have looked at a new one but prices are wa*k, so was thinking of a de-cat? anyone know where i can get one for this model?
Help/Info is much appreciated.

early corsa's with the 8 valve and 16 valve with a timing belt are all half way down the car, the modern ones like the 1 litre, 1.2, 1.4 chain drive engines have the cat on the exhaust manifolds, which are bolted on
but you would be lucky getting one at a scrappy as the cut them off and weight them in
and it wont be the cat it will be the oxygen sensor at fault

theres a long story to the car, but thats for another day.
Its a V reg (2000?) and on inspection its midway on the exhaust.
It wont get past 40mph no matter how hard u try and sounds like a rally car at the mo! The guy at the garage where it was said he plugged it on the Diagnosis machine and fault codes came up referring to the cat. thats all the info he would give.
Gonna have a friend look at it who has his own Dia machine so that should give us more info, but can i get a decat pipe anywhere just to get rid of the bloody thing?

cat is blocked then, take it off and poke the centre out, my car did the same a few years ago, was like a tractor

instead of getting a de cat pipe why not just buy sum pipe and do it your self not to difficault had done it to my metro although it had a resigator not a cat but same thing
the only thing is though your have to get a cat and fit it for your next mot so is there really any point to getting a decat pipe?
