turbocharger?
supercharger?
perfomance cams?
flowtech inlet manifold?
sports cat with full racing exhaust system?
perfomance software?
all depends on how much money you have to spend, dont think putting an induction kit will add any sort of meaning full horsepower figgures cus it wont

if you have the money id go for inlet manifold, sports exhuast and perfomance cams
cams would be around £350 to £400 depending where you get em from
inlet manifold would be around £500 to £1000 again depending on where you go
exhuast around £200 with a sports cat add another £200
easiest bang for buck would be an engine swap.
which is why alot of people do it lol

should do, you can get diffrent camshafts for diffrent aplications, ones for low down power, or high end power or extend the powerband
depends on what you want really!

I don't want to spoil your fun, but if you
"dont have a clue bout cars and wouldnt no what the F#*k i was doing"
is it really wise to start playing with cams? If you're lil 1.4 is a SOHC - Single OverHead Cam - (engine code C14SE or X14SZ) then fair enough have a go, but if it's a DOHC - Double OverHead Cam - (engine code X14XE) there's alot of potential problems that can cause lots of potential expense and lots of potential swearing at your car. For this reason you could be inclined to give it to a garage, and if you choose a dodgy one then all the same problems will occur...
But this is just me trying to prevent you starting to hate your car. If it was me, mates would be round, beer would be flowing, and when it didn't work, I'd swear and put it down to experience. Keep all things car related a laugh, if it stops being fun, stop doing it. And put a big exhaust on it! And a spoiler. Everybody knows the first performance modification anybody can make, is a spoiler.

just readthis thread , keep the upgrades simple.
exhaust system
upgraded air filter with de-restricted box.
you will notice and increase in performance and it wont cost you an arm and leg
then after that you have
inlet manifold
lighter cams
all jobs above are simple to do if you aregood at reading instructions andhave a haynes manual.
if its handling you want then:
alloys ( 15's best)
lowered suspension (keep in mind if lowering you will need the correct offset alloys)
upgraded bushes
then spoilers would be more towards making the car look sporty.

if you want proper performance get a bigger engine for what it will cost to wake a 1.4 up, it would be cheaper all round to stick a 16 valver in it that alone will give a massive performance gain, probably a slight insurance increase but you can pick one up for the price of a decent pair of cams
