Wrap or paint?

Hi All,

I am new to the forum, and also to the world of Corsas!! I bought one at the weekend as my old car had finally died! however I didnt really have much choice and there are a few problems with mine which hopefuly can be fixed easily! The main problem is a big scuff on my driver side wing mirror, it looks like it has had a fight with a wall and lost, it isnt too deep but it does stick out like a sore thumb!

Do I paint them both - if so how easy? or buy some carbon wrap and have a go at wrapping them, I have had a look around and there is some stuff from 3m called di-noc which is meant to be quite realistic as it is textured, found it here www.carbonfibrewrap.com - has anyone used this stuff or these guys, or is it going to be cheap rubbish? The same stuff is on ebay but isnt as cheap, so not quite sure, but looks much easier than painting (and cheaper)!

Thanks!

i'll tell you right now carbon wraping isnt as easy as it looks, i bort some of that stuff with the intention of wrapping loads of interiour bits, but so far i've only managed the back of my fone

you know wot people are like, before i find a place to get my stuff done another 50 people will have jumped on the band wagon. and then my idea to make my car different and unquie will be another bog standard modification that every one does.

Thanks for the warning! According to the website this 3m di-noc stuff stretches and is easy to apply with a heatgun, watched a few videos on utube earlier so figured i would give it a go as its quite cheap, will let you know how i get on, although i may try something a bit flatter before i attempt to do my mirrors!!

its not too hard if you do it with 2 of you and heat it up. www.aceimageuk.com do really good vinyl carbon but theres a wait for stuff off there as hes having personal problems.that 3m stuff is good but needs poo load of lacker over the top coz its not shiny.

well i ordered some yesterday and its already turned up - not bad stuff either, it has a bit of stretch in it, but as soon as you heat it up it turns into cling film and goes really stretchy, just measured it all up and pretty sure i can get my bonnet done for £57.99 delivered, will see how i get one with my mirrors first though! definatley looks like a two man job at least though, and thats just to peel the backing paper off! Will post some pics when im done!!
