The car is hunting and missing on tick over with the maf unplugged, plug the maf in and it doesn't rev up. Will it matter that I have a big bore on x12xe engine btw

Also when I unplug the maf the car hunts faster. Anybody had a fault like this before and will be able to shed some light on my problem cheers

Sounds as if the maf is on the way out. Hunting and missing are the key clues to suggest that you need to find a scrappy and get your hands on a second hand replacement.

If it is the MAF, then getting a 2nd hand one is not really something I would advise, incase that has the same problem.
If you have a X12XE engine then you may have the same MAF sensor as I have. Bought a new one and it is this one i purchased:

Changed the maf it's is better but it now needs an icv if a turn the ignition on I can hear it Chewing on whitchs it's never done before so it's a trip to the scrappy the morn
