I want to buy a code reader for my 3cyl corsa b and dont want to fork out a fortune, ive seen a few around 20-30 notes on fleebay but not sure which one will work.
i have a Bosch Motronic ME1.5.5 ecu (according to my manual) but from what ive read the 3cyl is strange because you cant do the paperclip test and ive read on some posts that pin 6 is missing, also not sure if i have the 10 pin test socket or the 16pin (not sure where the socket is at this point).
So, would any OBD2 reader work for corsa 1999 onwards? ive also read about EOBD not sure what this is, maybe for ecotec engines, which mine is, so confused even more.
If anyone has any links to a reader on fleebay or any comments i would be gratefull.

dont waste your money. i only got charged 20 at my local garage to have a diognostic test.

ur socket shud be under the cover were your fuse box is. be side your right knee when u sit in the drivers seat.

Thanks Matty, but would still like to know the info about the ECU and what reader if anyone knows i would be gratefull,
it seems a lot of garages are still the spanner and hammer type and change parts with a degree of guesswork which if they knew a bit more about fault diagnoses wouldnt charge a fortune each time they take a stab at what the problem may be, times have changed but i dont think most workshops have kept up.
