Hi, Just bought a 1998 Merit 1.0 12v s reg.
On the way back I noticed that the clutch was very stiff and was finding it quite annoying as its usually a light push down on clutch to change gear!
What could be the problem? is it the clutch cable or what?

I'd say cable related

my 1.0i had a stiff clutch peadle too think all the 1.0i wer like that
could maybe try adjusting it or replace the cable its about all you can do
