fair enough lol ... oh and some strengthening plates will be needed if you was looking at tuning up the engine .. although these are not really needed also you will need a new zaust and manifold

yeah mate the x18xe aint a bad lump ... basically the baby brother of the c20xe ... to be honest no point in spending a c**p load of money on the 1.6 if you was thinking of the x18xe why not look into the c20xe .... again your going to need pretty much the same as the 1.8 conversion but you have more power from the word go and the tuning on these is fairly endless !

wouldnt it work out exactly the same to drop in a c20xe? or the ecotec equivalent?

yeah thats what im saying for the money that could be spent on the 1.8 may aswel go the extra hog and get the c20xe in there
and there both easy engines to work on.

cant argue with the price of it tbh. It's tottaly up to you though mate ... you can get the c20xe very cheap now but then you will need to rebuild it as i had to ... so if you think your going to be happy with the power then go for it ... there is still alot you can do with the 1.8 tuning wise and tbh there not bad my mate used to have the vectra 1.8 and it was a pretty fast car ... only thing is vectra is heavey so put the same engine in a corsa and zoom zoom

you can buy c20xes for £250, maybe for £400 with drive shafts etc tho but that would be £400 for a RUNNING c20xe.

as pricer says .. i picked mine up for just over £100 yeah fair enough i had to rebuild it but at the end of the day the rebuild is worth it as its going to give the enigne a new lease on life .... it had pretty much everything replaced so will be likea new c20xe when its finished.

the x18xe are extremely tunable apparently and restricted at inlet like the x16xe dbilas claim 35bhp from inlet manifold etc standard there 125bhp so that would take it over the redtop?!!! anyone got one in there car?
