Was driving home last night and suddenly couldn't select 4th. When stopped at the lights couldn't get 2nd either. There was no strange noise or anything.
Its a 1.4 16v.
Anyone had a similar problem?
Likely to be box or linkage?

Re: HELP LOST GEARS
i had the same problem a couple of weeks ago. i took it to my friend who is a mechanic and it was the clutch that needed adjusting, he says its common in these cars. give it a go and it should sort your problem

Re: HELP LOST GEARS
Nice thought, cheers.
But I tried clutchless gear changing using the throttle and can't get anywhere close, and I can't get 2nd or 4th with the engine off either.
So don't think its the clutch.
Don't really have time to have a proper look over it for a few weeks so if anyone has any other suggestions I'd be much appreciated.

Re: HELP LOST GEARS
Problem solved. Found a stray wiring clip wedged on top of the gear box preventing selection of 2 and 4.
So well happy nice quick free repair!
