speedo needle is a prick!

i replaced my dials with plasma ones and half way thru the process i accidently popped my speedo needle out, nothing was snapped, however once i got it back in and plugged in everything works fine, but natrually the speedo needle is sitting at like 7 o clock?, i can move it to 0mph when im still and it will stay and move fine but when i stop still again it springs back down passed the 0mph, any idea how to fix this or what sorta person could?
