I have been trying to removing the centre console - followed all online guides and checked the Haynes Manual... however I cant get the two outside heater dials off. (shown below)
Each guide just says "pull" them off.. anyone had problems doing this? How much force should I be using? Basically my fingers are knackered trying to pull these off. I`m hoping there is some knack or position to enable them to be released? All I plan to do is remove the console cover - not interested in anything behind.
Any help would be very much appreciated!!

Re: Damn heater dials
Would I be able to access the clips from the view you can see in the photo?

Re: Damn heater dials
if you look under the dials opposite the white line you will see a small hole ,find a thin screwdriver or split pin that fits the hole push it in the hole while you pull the heater control knob and bingo it will come off

Re: Damn heater dials
I will try again tonight, this time with the help of a screw driver. I just have a fear for some reason these might be glued on!?
Matty: I do plan to remove the plastic cover to spray it. Removed the 4 screws and other bits and pieces required. I did notice 3 clips under the clock display, I`m hoping these will easily be released once the rest is off?

Re: Damn heater dials
They just pulled off on mine - I used pliers with with masking tape on them to stop them scratching the dials. I wouldnt wedge them out with screw drivers as you can damage the plastic. I know cause I did that...
Also they may need a bit of superglue to hold them back on once your done...
