hi guys, recently bort a corsa but have found a little problem, when im doing a certain speed say 30 40 it sorta kangaroos a bit feels a little like ur running outa petrol sorta thing (we have all been there) but as soon as u put on the accelarator a little bit it stops straight away . the car had been stood 7 8 months before i bort it? ive took the plugs out and cleaned them but still made no difference. i wondered if anyone knows how to sort this problem or any ideas as to what it might be. would appreciate it very much.
cheers for reading
dan

might be the fuel filter not allowing full flow maybe.

its the idle control valve.
mine was a bit lumpy at idle and wud rev its self between gears, and like u said splutter every now and again.
changed it today and problem solved

mine doesnt rev itself but the revs stay up a lil longer than what im used to in my old corsa? maybe it could be that? how much does that cost mate?

get one from a scrappy first, they cost about 90 from vauxhall.

Give the car a damn good service, especially plugs and fuel filter
my escort does exactly the same thing when im following traffic at like 30mph with my foot barely on the accelerator. only time it "kangaroos"
it wont be idle control valve GUARANTEED

Could be ICV - might be worth getting a vauxhall garage to read the EMU on their computer - they can check the operation of the ICV before you swap it.
However before you do that if you havent recently then:
Give the car a damn good service, especially plugs and fuel filter

it wont be the ICV as it runs fine on idle and pulling away
if its doing it at only 30/40 mph with very little acceleration then id say it just needs new plugs, fuel filter, air filter etc. as mentioned above my escort does exactly the same and mine is due a service
