Yeah, i have a 2000 corsa b 1.0 with eco tec engine it with 75k. i get white smoke when i start the engine......HELP!!!!!?
what can cause white smoke from the exhaust?
car serviced about 60 miles ago. i had my oil change, oil/air/fuel filter, spark plugs and brake pads changed for £90. filled the car up with £45 worth of petrol, drove the car for 35 miles with out no problems. engine running smoothly and much quieter before the service.
i was stationary at traffic lights, losing power, cutting out - engine cut itself out. restarted the engine, no engine management light, no over heating, but i'm now getting white smoke from the exhaust????? Now when I start the car, it is blowing out thick white smoke continuously, and you can smell petrol????? its not loosing water.
I took the car back to the garage to have the car looked at and the bloke checked the valve sealings, changed the oil and spark plugs, said 'sorry mate, can't find anything wrong other than its got engine fault somewhere????
does any know where the problems lies?? is this a head gasket problem??

blue/grey smoke is burning oil, WHITE smoke is normally headgasket gone and burning water, can you smell the smoke to see what it smells of??
i mean go to he rear of the car and get a good sniff with the car running, it will smell like a stinky kettle, or better still put your hand over the tailpipe, see whats on your hand after a few seconds
i doubt your overfuelling as it would need to be chucking in litres at a time to be smoking badly

went see another mechanic for a second opinion. mechanic got diagnostic tester to read the fault codes. come back as hairline crack in or around head gasket and EGR valve failure!!! I'm absolutely gutted, absolutely gutted!!! going to get mechanic to strip the engine down and get the head gasket skimmed. looking at a £400 bill in the next few weeks!!!

head skimmed and gasket changed i hope you mean?
firstly if its the gasket then you only need a cambelt kit and headgasket set, the head wont need skimming
400 seems a little high for this, i charged someone 250 to do headgasket and waterpump on a rover 420
