I'm fitting the drive shafts on my redtop corsa and the bloke I bought the engine off left the cv joint in the gearbox. Is there an easy way to fit the cv joint back on to the drive shaft?

You will need to check out the joint that is left in the gearbox thoroughly. If it is ok then try putting in a new spring washer inside the cvjoint and push the shaft back home. The bloke you bought the car from has obviously had problems removing it, just cannot figure out why he would do so, unless the other joint was knackered. However, it would probably be easier to remove the cv joint, try and get good leverage on either side of it and remove it so you can check it over properly. Let us know how you get on, I have never come across this problem before, so would be very interested in the outcome.

I have removed the cv joint from the gearbox, but all the bearings have fallen out of it. Can you put them back together? Been trying for ages but can't get it back together!

You will need to get yourself another one, check out ebay for cv joints, I got a pair for £30.00 plus postage, a single was £19.99 from the same seller. Better to check this out first, but I think the inside is 22 splines, the same as a 14xe.
