Right guys i\'m fed up of not knowing O_o all about my car engine, don\'t know what half of the things that get mentioned on here even are, so, i want to learn more.
Plus i\'d like to be able to do more work by myself coz i\'m sick of paying people to do it.

Does anyone know of any short courses (Leeds area) i could maybe do that i could learn about maintaning and changing bits on my car??

Please dont think im taking the piss because im not. The majority of people learn by buying a haynes manual and studying it. then when you plucked up enough courage, go and do what ever you need to do on the car. like a couple of weekends ago i did my first engine conversion. its all a matter of trial and error. and you learn from your mistakes. its all a learning curve.

this is exactly how I learnt what I do now, from studying the haynes & then getting my hands dirty...

Since owning my first Corsa, I\'ve done 3 rebuilds on the engine in that one, rebuilt a 205 engine, swapped out a 2l 8v from a calibra with another engine (same type) done countless oil & filter changes, coolant changes, replaced hoses/wiring, re-wired the loom behind the dash on my GSi, fitted about 3 sets of suspension, replaced brake calipers, discs, pads, 2 gearboxes, 6 clutches, howevere many timing belt changes I did on my old corsa (about 4 i think ONTOP of rebuilds), now sorting out the engine on my GSi & in the future looking at a complete rebuild of my current X16XE and fitting throttle-bodies...

Tell ya - Haynes is just pure Genius!
