Wont fire up

Post by jimi12369 »

Right after numerous probs with my 3cyl 1ltr 1999 corsa, such as MAF, egr, crank sensor, and idle speed control valve, ive tried helping anyone on here with similar probs. Now if anyone could help me it would be very much appreciated.
Turning engine over, eml light lit permanantly on dash and a consistent clicking noise (i presume a relay) from the passenger clovebox area, but wont fire up!
Anyone had this or any tips where to start looking? Thanks in advance.

i had this on my envoy the way i got it started was a bit weird to be honest. if your drive is a slight incline get it to the top put it in gear then turn the key so it jumps its self forward put just hold the key on so it keeps doing it.
im sure some other people will tell you different but thats how i got mine to go was fine after that aswell

Try tinkering with relays by glovebox! Perhaps a trip to a breakers yard and grad a load of relays and then try them

Squirt some wd 40 into the throttle body, not too much, then turn on the ignition. The car should fire up for a second or so if you are getting a spark, and if it does do so, then suspect fuel problems. The clicking relays could be a clue that either they are not functioning properly, or that the fuel pump has gone, bad connection somewhere along the line, blocked fuel filter, or enough not enough fuel in the tank. If the car did not fire up with the wd40 then you are not getting a spark. Check all connections, distributor or coil pack, ht lead etc etc. Use wd40 on all connections, leads etc. to dispel dampness just in case.

735 - corsa gsi's currently on the road and 436 SORN
Basicly you would have to be a right tw*t to break one for parts

Not a very nice post, now is it? Now I just happen to know the forum he has tried for an answer, the name is the same, so why do we not all go over there and give this sod a bit of his own medicine. I am sure the other members on the other forum will be very interested in his above post, so much so that he might just get ignored the next time he comes wailing, I cannot get my car to run. What an ungrateful so and so.
