timing belt broke 1.2 8 valve corsa

hi all me timing belt went on me last nite at 70 would it be a case of just a new belt or can other parts have went to thanks.

if you are lucky, then maybe just a new belt. But in most cases (especially at 70), the breaking of the belt will have bent the valves or even damage the valve guides. If you take it to a garage they will most likely try it with a new belt initially

Orrr depending where you are I have a spare 1.2 engine out of my corsa I dropped out the other week due to loosing the keys, if your intested

you dont happen to have lost the keys for a 1.4. aswell do you

on topic: assess what damage there is, if there is damage to the engine id go for the engine ^

nahh iv bought another car now and thats a 1.4 and iv got two spare keys that both start the car so

i should be safe for a while

but yea i have a 1.2 8v engine for sale if you want it i dropped it into my car earlier last year because my origional one dropped a plug electrode and then i drove it for a bit, then it was sat in the shed for a while because iv been driving my caddy, so hasnt been driven much, and its done around 70,000 miles so hardly any either.

very rarely do they bend valves, try a new belt and see what happens, ive seen them break rocker arms but very rarely valves

I just read up that they do bend them sometimes, and the garage where i take my car said it will. but i suppose they just want you to tell them to check so they can charge labour

in garage getting sorted be ready monday night it needs timing belt, valves. rocker,head gasket and somthing else but cant remember the other thing its all getting done for 300 thats labour to so i dont think thats to bad for all that.

the head gasket on a 1.2 8v is well simple, i got home from work one night and did my sisters head gasket on her corsa that afternoon lol
