6 months ago i bought a standard 1.2 16v sxi corsa from a pricate seller with 6 months MOT. i recently had an MOt done on it only to have revealed that it was on the DVLA's Catagory C marker. i have tryed to get in contact with the person i bnought it of but as usual i cant reach them. the car runs great and iv modified it a fair bit now. i was just wondering what i could do to find out wether i should have been told it had been involved in a smash or if that was down to me to find that out.. it really Pi**d me of when i found this tho i cant find a fault with the car..

any advice would be great cheers

might be worth contacting te dvla and see what they would advise you to do. also go through the documents find the previous owners address then go drive te car into the bastards front room.

its kind of down to you to find out put then on the other hand he sold you the car under faulse pretences.

not 100% sure but if its a catorgy c write off it shudnt have a valid mot so ur insurence wont be valid so for your own benifit dont drive it now u know.........

m9 was a cat c m8, have you got a log book and that for it?
most the time cat c's arnt very badly damaged
also ring dvla in and ask them if it needs a VIC or if it has already bin, if its already bin, its fine, but before it goes for a VIC it has to be MOT'd, the problem is, if its a dodge car (like two cars welded together), they will take thew car and crush it

cheers for the advice im gona ring the DVLA tomorrow and see what they say i can do.. i was proper pissed when i bought knowing full well the seller knew about it and said nothing. wanker! iv spent a fair bit on it so ill be pissed of its f**k..
