Losing power with a K&N Panel Filter

Post by james92 »

My car is a 1.2 16v and i read that if you put a air filter in a car under 1.4 it lacks speed at top end ?
Is this true ? wont it be worth me getting one ?
Cheers

OFFICAL DVLA DATA:
1414 - corsa gsi's on the road in 2008.
735 - corsa gsi's currently on the road and 436 SORN
Basicly you would have to be a right tw*t to break one for parts

Thanks to everyone for an awsome weekend at pvs!

it depends..... in a standard airbox i noticed very little if any performance gains but when u de-restrict it (take the pipes out that narrow the airflow) there is a very slight gain. i had ur engine as well. u shudnt notice any bad effects, it just revs a bit easier and better so has a tiny acceleration gain - not much tho

in my opinion you cant beat an upgraded filter panel , with an induction cone filter your more than likly to draw warm heat into the engine (eventually it will nacker up the airflow meter) if youve got one make sure you have a extra cold air feed.
