steering wheel is trembling during braking! help!

a few days ago i got the rear wheels off cause i washed the rims. by the time i got them back and took it for a ride i realised that the steering wheel is trembling when i am braking. :o any ideas what's going on? the front brakes have disks but the rear ones not! both pair of brakes (rear and front) were changed 2 years ago and the brake pads 5 months ago. i am looking forward for your help! :D

by the sounds of it m8 your tracking is off... i was drivin mi m8s vw bora thur at the weekend and it was doin the sme and thats wat she told me thats wat needs fixed on it.. now ano its 2 completly different cars but am sure its the same reason lol.. hope ave bin sum help

Could also be that a disc is warped a bit, although that produces more of a shudder, than a tremble. Did you tighten up the rear wheels properly when you fitted them back on? An easy mistake to make, though it can be dangerous.

Aren't tremble and shudder the same thing ????? I'd say tracking too mate!

could also be wheel balancing... unlikely as im guessing it was fine b4 but taking the wheels off could have moved the weights and unbalanced them

un balanced wheels wont do that much interferince with the brakes tbh, youd feel it going along a straight road thats it really, i would check your front discs for being warped, and clean your caliper and carrier up, my car failed on front brakes on its mot, gave them a clean cause the carrier was minging and the slides were dry, and also take your drums off to clean them up, theyl be alto of stoor in them, but make sure you tighten the rear drums up not too tight as itl destroy the bearing, but tight enough to take the play up, and get a new split pin,
