Hey all.
just done my head gasket with no problems. i did the thermostat and that since i was there. the timing belt has been off and is now timed up. BUT SLACK. i read in the manual u need to turn the water pump with a tool to tighten the cambelt???? ive never done this before when working on other cars and aint really sure how to tighten this belt, its got an locking pin type tensioner which i have tried to tighten the belt with. it goes tight but not enough.
anyone got any advice or anyone done this job before ???
its urgent as i need it for work asap.

yeah its simple just loosen the three 5mm allen headed bolts that hold the water pump in and either use a bloody big spanner on the big nut behind the pulley with the belt on or use a flat ended bar and tap the pump round , if you look at the pump you will see it is off centre just study it to see which way to go all you do then is move it untill the pointer aligns on the tensioner and then retighten the pump you dont take the belt off otherwise you wont know if you are right or wrong
