95 x14xe help

Anyone know if there is a scanner out there which will plug into a 95 x14xe? I have checked the net but they all seem to be for 97 onwards
also forgot to mention, I have tried getting my key coded with all sorts of problems, but....
my battery was dead when the guy tried to code it, so we put the jump leads on and he tried again but the alarm was going off constantly and he didnt turn the alarm off, then after 3 goes he said he couldnt do it and the alarm was doing his head in so he left. Could the alarm going off prevent him coding the key?
