Need help please Corsa B owners.

Hi all,
I currently own a Nissan Micra 1.3GX and currently looking at two Corsa B's. Me and mum (hence I'm 17) have found two within a good price and ish on the insurance price wise. We looked at both the Corsa's tonight and I thought I'd ask and tell a bit about both and see what Corsa you lot think would be best.
The 1st one we saw was a red R reg 1.2 5 door, the body work is excellent, has electric steering, but the garage owner said that the engine is flodded as the car was turning over but not catching, but it did catch in the end (engine problem?), as I couldn't test drive it as I'm still a learner mum said the car was fantastic to drive, and I believe if we part exchanged my Micra, this would make the car this Corsa would be £500 with no service history and has 77k miles.
The second one again, an R reg, but this is a funky green colour 1.1 3 door, the body work isn't as good, it has the smallest of dents in the world, has a little scuf mark on part of the front bumper an a little rust where the bonnet is, but to me, nothing to worry about, unlike the last Corsa, this one started 1st time, but when mum took it on a test drive she said that it's diffucilt to change gear, she felt like she has to put pressure on the clutch but, and into gear but no overally diffucilt (gearbox problem soon?), unlike the red Corsa, this has full service history, same milage, but do you think the 1.1 engine has enough poke to get me out of a situation if I need to move quick or something?
Thanks for the help and reading the long essay.
Edit - forgot to say, if we part exchanged my Micra in for the green Corsa, it will be £700.
