on smaller engines like 1.0 1.2 1.4 you wont really see much difference at all, but with engines like 1.6 1.8 2.0's you get increased air flow in to the engine which can give you a small boost in performence.

yea, would say so, because it is a bigger filter and the normal panel filters only suck through a wee pipe
The other good thing is it makes it sound better
The only other thing is unless you have it boxed off, it could suck the hot air from the engine in but the panel filter won't
I would go with the k+N because it has more advantages than the panel filter and also i am told by others the k+N gives you more power
I do Rallying and i have a k+N, the good thing is the stages are normally quite clean so i just push the filter down away from the engine mostly everyone else does this so it must be a good enough idea,

i had a carbon fibre induction kit on mine. when i got it when you start it from cold i would give it some revs and it would feel sludgy and just would take forever. put a filter on it didnt make a difference. i then de restriceted and and drilled the air box and now its perfect.

Cool! What exactly do you mean by derestricting the airbox! Am i right in thinking its just a case of taking filter out and drilling two or 3 holes in the bottom of box then just putting air filter back in. If so what are the benifits? Cheers
and does it sound different! I don't want a crazy sounding car lol just better air flow etc.
