i have the carsa car van , not the combi.. i've had it for 3 days now in every morning its hard to start , takes about 5mins to get going but always starts and then starts fine when warm ..
It has a massive pipercross air filer on it , would this be the problem? and would putting a stardard airbox sort it out?
Thanks in advance and im gunna put some pics on soon because its going to look well smart

they are used in diesels instead of spark plugs. Petrol ignites by spark, were diesel ignites from the compression, thats why older diesels tend to have a knock to them. When you get in a diesel you have to wait for the dash light to go out before you can start it, that light it showing the heat plugs are at work heating the cylinders to help with starting. If the heat plugs arent working properly you will struggle starting your car, more so on colder mornings. You can spray easy start into the air intake which aids in starting but eventually you wont start the car till you get new heat plugs

easy job to fix mate. They are behind the rocker cover between the block and inlet. buy some new glow plugs (about £20) unscrew the old ones and remove the metal conductive thingy. then just screw in the new ones, not too tight or you will break the seal, and reconnect the metal conductive thingy. my 1.7 seems to get through these things every 3 months or so tho, its ridiculous!
