Headlights

Recently my front right headlight hasn't been working correct, it only goes onto main beam or sidelights. i have changed the fuse and the bulb but neither are correcting it. When i place the new fuse in the front right headlight automatically becomes main beam, so at the moment i have had to takes out the dipped headlight fuse. i was wandering how to fix this problem?
