No Starter Cold?

Hi all, i have a 1996 1.2 GLS 8v which decided not to start today.

It has been parked in an open area which was exposed to that nasty frost last night - drove it about 100 miles 3 days ago and it ran sweet as anything, but this morning it refused to start - was turning over but not firing, so i gave it a boot of gas to try and achieve turnover - could i have flooded the carb (stupid of me i know)

Anyhow squeezed it into my garage and started it up all well and good about 5 hours later with not apparent problems, is this a ridiculous problem or anybody else had similar cold related issues?

I had the same problem with my '94 1.4 LS last year.
Had to get the RAC out in the end. Everything was fine apart from a bit of damp in the distributor cap. Now I just carry WD40 in the boot and when it happens a quick spray is all it needs. Can be a bit of a bummer when on the motorway and it's hammering down for hours
