engine heat dial

Well whenever ive got the engine ticking over just running it goes high but when driving it doesnt seem that high, fitted some new speakers, dont know if thats caused an issue.

Hi,
You mean your engine temperature right?
It could be over heating because you do not have enough water/coolant.
Have you checked this?

Your fuse for your fan could also possibly be gone or a fault with the fan.

The speakers should not effect the engine temperature.

Yeah ive got loads of coolant. If just extending speaker wire, does the negative go to negative and positive to positive? Or do u have to do opposites. Just double check.

How strange.
It would be cool when you are driving as the air is passing through the car.

it shudnt go that high when driving. mine used to run at the lower end of the scale all the time - corsa engines have very high temperature sways - can go from 90 right through to 100 with no problem just with general driving

Yeah its fine while driving just when im stopped outside house say with engine running not moving in neutral it goes up.

My '96 1.2 does the same thing too, it gets worse when i reverse into the garage you can see the dial moving up really quite fast when i'm backing in slowly.
