Hi everyone

I have a Corsa B cdx 1.4 16v
Recently my speedo cable stopped working and then the engine late came on. Then the car started to cut out whilst driving and running pretty badly. Still drives but cuts outs every now and again.
Said that I need to replace my VSS (speed sensor) the mechanic ordered a crankshaft sensor and still no joy. Obviously it was the wrong part.
I would like to know where the VSS is located and if I can change this myself?
Also are these the symptoms when the VSS pcks up?
Any help/advice would be great!

its under neath the battery right next to the gear linkage
