I've been thinking of starting to colour code headlights depo style in black but also in other colours, if anyone is interested let me know, prices will be about £50 a pair on an exchange basis. You tell me what colour, i'll paint them up and send them out then you send your old lights to me when new ones are fitted to your car. I'm thinking of doing my lights brocade yellow so will get some pics up when i do them once weather is better. I used to do painting for mercedes so know what i'm doing paint wise!

firstly how are you intending on getting your headlights apart  because its only the headlights with the clips on that you can get apart easier! the one which have no clips use really heavy industrial glue, and the only way for them is to cut the back of one headlight, and smash the glass out of the other and glue them together. you can not get these headlights apart, so unless you have a really cheap supply of headlights then good luck. because iv used about 5 headlights and only managed to make one fake depo one. so three have smashed when iv been cutting the plastic of the back, its really really delicate when you get to pulling the plastic from off the headlight rim.

If you take all the bulbs\adjuster motors out and leave headlights in a bucket of hot water the glue warms up and they come apart alot easier, i'll be buying up as many headlights with the clips on Ebay that i can and will be getting them stripped down and primered up and ready to spray in what ever colour needed.

if you say so

ideally what you want are standard depo headlights (there the only ones with clips on) valeo ones are a badger to do. trust me i've tried the hot water meathod, oven, and heat gun they dont like coming appart.

To be honest I couldn't remember what make were easier to take apart, when I done my astra gsi the facelift lights were harder to take apart but the gsi headlights come apart easy. I remembered the name valeo but couldn't remember if they were the easy or hard ones, will have to remember to keep my eye out for depo items, cheers mate. John

u'll be hard pushed to find many depo headlights on ebay or scrapyards etc, most people snap them up pritty quick and corsa's only came with valeos as standard, and depos were replacment parts i think.

Well I'll just have to see what i can find about, I can get in touch with some people who are still in the chemical trade and try to get a solvent that eats the glue, have used it a few years ago but can't quite remember what it was called (had some long name!)
