no fan working

i recently brought a 1.2 8v LS VX Corsa B which was off the road for several months, i have got it to start and idle on the spot but the battery is that dead if i stop the engine and try to restart it, it fails to unless i jump it. After letting it idle it goes up the themostat reader and the fan doesnt kick in when it should so im thinking is it the fan or themostat not working. and ideas on this.
i need to get this solved so i can work on the engine before i get its new MOT then finish off the GSi bodywork and start saving for my c20xe.

the fans done kick in until 100 degrees, and if you have air con they the second doesnt kick in until 105 or something, its in the haynes manual if you read it.

why dont you just run the engine and leave the bonnet up and wait for it to come on, it will take forever in this weather to come on tho, thats what i did.

dont worry bout it mate just let the engine run untill it kicks in mine only kicks in when dash temp gauge is just over 100 but thats not always acurate. i was freaking out with mine. but as said its 100 before its meant to kick in. also let us know if you can get a cooler thermostat mine doesnt open till it hits 100 then temp sits between 96 to 98. what temp does yours open at??

you have a coolfan switch in your radiator.. you can buy one that switches earlyer, you can also buy a thermostat that opens on 82.
check this, im from holland and ordered 1 @ m-tech they ship to the uk 2 i think.

that happnd to mine what i done was replaced the switch at bottom of radiator on drivers side, cost couple pound from scrappies, and the reason its not keepin charge is the altenator would be knackered.

turns out the battery is knackered so far, havent had chance to test alternator yet. there was no fluids in the battery terminals so ill replace the battery ASAP then test the alternator.
i mite replace the rad switch to be on the safe side as it has had a new radiator installed
