hi guys,
i just bought a corsa 1.0 12v 2000 on a v plate with 82k for cheap ,needs a wee bit o tidy'ing up and the plan is a redtop convertion,but i need it to run around in the meantime but the engine management light is on the guy i bought it from said he had the mass air flow changed but its still runs like a bag o nails so i took it to a mechanic i know and he plugged in his wee handheld diagnostic and it came back as the mass air flow, it starts and drives but it is missing and when you stop or slow right down at a roundabout or lights and pull off again it goes for a couple of meters say then it losses all power and then like it bump starts itself.any help would be much appreciated

sounds like you mite need to change the airflow meter again. when your mate put it on the diognostics did he clear the fault code for your? if not the ecu cud think the broken air flow meter is still fitted and cause it to run rough.

he tried to clear it but it would'nt let him i might try it again i thought it could also be the coil pack?

hi the other day my engine management light came on untill i turned off my engine, but nothing was wrong it ran fine ive recently put a cone filter on i wonder would that cause it ??

My engine management light comes on randomly, mines the EGR valve and it does it sometimes when im starting the car cold but turn it of for about a minute and the light clears, Hope this helps

mine does exactly the same. it also happens when i'm waiting at traffic lights or something it comes on the when i drive it goes off again i cant work it out

Thanks for the replies folks,i will try the switch off and switch on thingy.whats it with these corsa's everyones em light is on lol

Take the bulb out

yeap its not only the rest of you mines cumin on from time to time to lol

mine came on today aswell lol, i was thraping mine alot, testing new parts on engine then light came on, i press the brake pedal shortly after and nothing then car dragged to right and thankfully a big pile off snow stopped me lol

went to the breakers today and picked up a maf meter, fitted it ,and light went out so fingers crossed.
