does any one on here with a corsa b have a loud rattle coming from the engine when they start it up when its cold because mines doing it its a 1.2 8valve with about 123000 124000 cheers.

My guess tappets but that's only a guess though.

i heard could be water pump to but not sure then even after the engines warm it stays there but not as loud you can hardly hear it.

Does the 1.2 have a chain on it? Could be that?

its a belt mate.

i got a 1.2 8v but mine does give a little rattle in the mornings when its cold, like some one said check the oil, i topped mine up after i heard it and did it good, think its best to use thick oil in cold weather? or i just been told crap aha

lol i have tryed topping the oil up but its still there and it still rattles a little bit after its warmed up at idle.

Im sure its thin oil what is best for winter mate.

it was doing the same thing in the summer mate then the belt went and it had new valves followers head rebuilt new cambelt but its doing the same thing again but thinking it cant be the belt again because it all been done.
