yh i know your all gunna say whats the point get difrent car or get difrent engine or w.e.
but tbh i havent got enough money to do all that plus age 19 with 3 points insurence is high enough even on a 1.0lt as it is.

so if theres any1 out there that knows a easy way to de-cat a 1999 corsa B 1.0lt 3cylinder corsa can you please tell me
as the cat is bolted just after the manifold going downwards before it bends under the engine

reason i want it does is that its not that exspencive to do and considering i got 55bhp as standered and a possible gain ive bin told of 5/6 sounds temping lol
dont do bad standered got 80mph in 3rd lol with 3 people in it lol

im not sure if you even can.... i know the 1.2 16valve engine can't be de-catted :/

bt the gains u refer to are a bit over exaggerated.... ud notice maybe 2 or 3hp at absolute best bt to even get that ud need to combine it with an improved exhaust system and better air intake (k&n panel filter is the best for that). a decat simply allows more air out of the engine bt unless you got more air going in it aint gona really make much difference

the only way you will be able to make a de-cat is to custom make one, get hold of an old 1L cat or manifold and use it as a template and make a new flange to fit out of steel plate and then just cut and bend some pipe to suite and weld it to it, it will be a bit of a pain in the ass but thats the only possible way of doing it i think :? unless its possible of getting hold of an old 1L cat and cutting the top flange off and welding the pipe direct to it, but i have a feeling the cat flanges are cast :? but i might be wrong. good luck anyway :D

another way i've heard of people doing it is by getting an old cat for your engine and knock the insides out, havent done it myself but dont see why it wouldnt work

Thats what i was told to get a old cat of same model and just knock or cut the insides out and at the moment i got standered exhaust till the centre box but the previous owner has had a straight through pipe made up with a chrome tip bolted on so hasnt got a back box and it sounds realy nice not over the top unless u rev it high an ive got a k&n already on but dont realy make much difrence just a bit louder
My mates got a polo with same engine in as mine cars about 4 yrs older though an i was told his only tops out at 85 :s

80 in 3rd

i dont think i would bother doing a decat because if your going to drive like that, then i think you need to save up for a new engine

i cud get 75 on limiter in my 1l and i didnt do it again

grow some brains. no wonder you have 3 points

i have to agree, not looking for brownie points but that is daft,
we all do silly things but hitting the limiter all the while will start to do damage,
ive done it once and never again panicked after i hit it incase of doing some damage

Have you tried ringing around local exhaust places i rang all over for one for my 1.2 i rang one places asked if they made a de-cat pipe they said no and just by chance i asked if they knew any where what would do it they said errm yes next door will do lol so i got number off them and rang them straight away they got car in within half a hour made a de-cat pipe fitted it and gave me whats looks to be brand new cat all for 50 quid so its worth ringing these places.

Yh but at 75 it wasnt even no where near the limiter so... I wasnt raggin the poo out of it an tbh a second hand engine with less miles for it is nearly same price a a new tyre so tbh im not tht bothered if sumthin does happen an mine gets to 90 before starts to take a while an i got my points for a broken fork seal on my old motor bike and they gave me a producer a few days before xmas an no wher was takin any more work so couldnt get it done in the time limit even went police station an told them tht i would leave it with the
From now till wheb they can do work so im not in possesion of bike an they said we'll get bk to you an they didnt gt work dne sent producer to police wen dne n 2 months later had letter for go court an i had proof i didnt have possesion of bike an they said they wer sti guna giv me points so....
