LOCATING THROTTLE BODY ON CORSA B?

I have just taken my 1994 M Reg Vauxhall Corsa GLS 5dr Auto 1.4 Petrol to a garage today as it’s been really bad on fuel. Filled my tank up for the second time since buying the car. The car did 130 miles on a full tank, which cost about £42.

My mechanic says my cars needs a new or second hand throttle body.

Just wondering, would it be cheaper to clean the existing throttle body or buy new or replace the throttle body? Please explain. How do I clean the throttle body?

Thank you in advance.

I'm a newbie too and have just changed the idle air control motor which is attached to the throttle body. Have a look at this thread for a bit of info :
