Hi,

I got my k&n induction kit today, was looking on the net about oil and come across a lot of people slagging off aftermarket filters saying they cause damage to your engine and original air filters are better.

Having second thoughts but wondering what peoples experience is with k&n and corsa's.

If i do fit it, does anybody know a shop that sells k&n air filter oil? As none was in the box.

on smaller engines like 1.0 1.2's etc. they really wont increase performence a great lot tbh. the air flow meters dont seem to like them on the smaller engines either, hence why alot of people take them off and put performence pannel filters on, or simply drill there air box's.

the best place to buy the stuff from is ebay, and it again depends on what engine you have if you use oil as i have heard that they can block you air flow sensor up as they will stick to the sensor basically.

Yeah ive got 1.2 16v so not a big engine, sounds more bother than its worth if going to bugger up the engine.

nah it wont hurt the engine, just dont put oil on them if you have the cartridge type air flow sensor,

Ive no idea what my sensor is like, so you dont have to oil the cone ridges then at all if got the right sensor in. How can i find what sensor it has?

Personally i wouldn't go for a K&N because an open filter in an engine bay just sucks in warm air causing damage. Your better off just drilling your box as mentioned above or getting a panel filter. There are other Induction kits you can use that are enclosed and come with cold air feeds such as the Pipercross Viper and the BMC CDA systems but they are quite a bit more money than the standard intake systems, but will be much better for your engine and air flow sensor as no oil is required.
