air con

okay, removed most of air con today, ive removed all the piping and removed the radiator n everythin thats attached to radiator (fan n bottle thingy). im goin to leave the pump in as cba to change belt right now. question is anyway, that big box thing behind glove box, is that to do with ac? and does dash need to come out to take that out?
problem 2 lol... i believe my car is overfueling way to much, ive modded engine n that but still worse than should be, gettin 15-20mpg
its 1.4 16v btw
heard something about 'coolant temp sensor' could it be this? is it worth changing? thanks guys
