i have just checked my mot certifacate to see when mot is due and it says an advisory was issued which i never got off previous owner so i checked online and it tells me the advisory which is:
Service brake Your vehicle has only just met the required service brake efficiency. It would appear that the braking system requires adjustment or repair. (3.7.A.9)
does this mean i need to change the brake pads and discs??

Service brake? Isn't that just the handbrake? Might need a quick adjustment.
*Edit! Its the normal brakes! Just googled it. Can fail if brakes feel spongey or foot brake has a lot of movement before breaks become active. Might be worth changing pads and disks just to be on the safe side. Although if its spongey then your going to need to replace the brake hose's. Maybe an upgrade to some braided ones?

check your pads first but if they're ok and the pedal is slightly spongey it might just mean theres some air in them and they just need bleeding again.
